Earthquake in Japan

Unless you’ve been sleeping you’ve heard about the 8.9 earthquake and following tsunami in Japan, but have you seen this gigantic whirlpool that formed off the coast of Oarai after the event?

The tsunami swallowing cities and reversing the flow of rivers, unfazed:

It’s really a scary reminder that, whatever you build, Nature can always take it away in an instant. That said, the damage would have been a thousand times worse had Japanese engineers not designed and built their cities with this possibility in mind.
